You May Not Be Protected!

Did your internet service provider promise free antivirus software with your internet? They may not have told you that you need to download and install it on your computer. If you don’t have an antivirus program installed on your computer you are not protected. Your internet provider can not just filter it on there end. I have been removing a lot of viruses lately from computers people thought were protected because they were promised free antivirus software with there internet provider. This is usually a good thing but you have to download and install the software from your internet provider it is not automatic. Please protect yourself and either download it from them or choose one of the free antivirus software programs that are out there that work so well.

Business listings in local search matter. However if you go onto Google and type in a business category in a certain city you often have one or two businesses that have actually registered with local search and then quite a few with garbled information. You don’t have to be one of the businesses with garbled information and you don’t manually have to go to all the local search directories like I did to input your information, then go back to update it every time you make a change. There is a different way with UniversalBusinessListing.org.

What Are Rogue Anti-Spyware Programs and How do I get Rid of Them?

Crazy things are happening on your computer. You have programs you have never heard of popping up and telling you your computer has problems, that you need to pay them to fix them. DON’T fall for it. These are scams, programs that do bad things to your computer and steal your money. These types of programs are called rogue anti-spyware programs, and even though they are hard to remove, it can be done. Here is a little list of some of the programs but there are hundreds of them. ]

  • Antivirus 2008
  • Antivirus 2009
  • IE Antivirus 3.2
  • Winweb Security 2008
  • XP Antivirus

Notice how the names sound official, some even like they are from Microsoft? That is by design, to get people to believe there story and fall for it. It often works. So how did you get this thing in the first place? You picked it up from some website you were on, or someone else used your computer and did it for you. There is no other way to get it.

Affiliate Marketing not Working Try CPA Marketing!

CPA, means Cost Per Action. It basically means if you are a CPA marketer that you get paid every time a certain action is performed through your add or link. Unlike other forms of marketing it does not mean a sale has to be made. That’s right you don’t have to sell anything to get paid! That must mean that the payouts are really low right? No, just the opposite, many times CPA offers are more than other types of paid commision. How can they do that, you might be wondering? Believe me they make money on it and who really cares as long as they are reputable and you get paid. Who are they? CPA networks, like ClickBooth. You can even get paid for offering trials of products, in the 30 to 40 dollar range for getting people to try something. If you want to make more money than standard Clickbank products or other affiliate programs you really should be looking into CPA offers. I am giving it a try and so should you. Beware Electronics Salespersons, they don’t know nuttin

I was just in a store we shell leave unnamed talking about the latest netbook offerings they had. As usual I knew more about the technology than the sales clerk. He was talking about the slow speed and I mentioned adding a stick of RAM. That is when he told me the computer wouldn’t handle another stick of RAM it would probably nuke the whole system. Now I know that a lot of netbooks only have one RAM slot, but you can put a larger stick of ram and it will definitely perform better. Some netbooks even come with two slots, I was forced to wonder how many people he had told that garbage to. How many people believed him because he was the sales clerk and had on a nice little name tag.

All I can say is please don’t listen to someone just because they work in an electronics store. The week before they were probably selling T-Shirts. Ok, rant over all better now.

Free Anti-Virus Software Update

This a free update to the recommendations that I have made about anti-virus software. I have and still do think that Avira AvitVir is very good software. It is very effective and for home use free. However I have had many problems lately getting it to update. I can’t my systems to update, or any of my customers at there different locations. I have had very good experiences lately with the new AVG 9.0 so I would recommend that if you are having problems with Avira updates you are not alone. Think about moving to something else. No matter how good an anti-virus software is, it is only as good as the next definitions update. I just wanted to keep you up to date.

How to Get More Traffic on Your Website with Social Web Pages

Success, in order to make your website, blog or landing page successful you need more traffic. It is the eternal quest for ways to make that happen. Here is just one more way I use to increase traffic to my different web locations. Try writing articles in different social web pages. Places such as Weebly, Squidoo, and Hub Pages. Writing an article on one or all of these social pages sites giving further or related information to your landing page, blog post, or web page does at least two very helpful things. In order to do those things you need to use the keywords of the let’s say landing page you are trying to promote in the title, first paragraph and last paragraph of the article you write. Also, you need to write original content, don’t just copy the landing page content and paste it here. In the long run writing original content will really help you.

The First way it will benefit you is buy bringing extra traffic from people who read your article on the social pages site. You will have more content out there and more ways for people to find your site. That’s what you want more traffic right?

Second, Google loves these types of sites so they spider them often and you can be seen for you keywords. Also, you get high quality relevant back links to your original landing page, containing your keywords. This means higher search engine ranking for your target keywords. You get more targeted traffic, not just traffic in general.

I use these methods to promote blog posts, landing pages, and web pages every day. Put simply, it works. Give it a try yourself, you will love the results.

Looking for Legacy Device Drivers in all the Wrong Places?

One of the biggest problems I run into when reformatting a computer harddrive is finding the right drivers for all the components afterward. Maybe you have had that problem. System drivers can be elusive and search engines can’t always help you find them. I will tell you one of my sources for good system device drivers. Try Driverguide.com they provide a comprehensive list of legacy drivers and current drivers. It is a free service, if you start a free account which I recommend.

The end of last week I was looking for the drivers of 2 different Windows XP systems that had legacy drivers and driver guide had them all. So if you find yourself in a bind go check them out.

What is wrong with Netbook Computers!

I have a friend who just got a netbook and he likes it except for one thing. It is very slow! I have noticed that most netbooks only have 1 gigabyte of memory, and they run Vista or Windows 7. The problem is, that is the minimum memory for that OS. It runs much better with more. So if you are getting a netbook make sure it has a least 2 gigabytes of memory or, you can install more later for pretty cheap as long as the netbook can take more than one stick of memory.

Basically they are really minimal computer systems, you may need to upgrade a few things to make it run well. You will absolutely
need to upgrade the memory if you only have 1 Gigabyte for it to run well
