You bet. If Comcast and Zappos can do it you should do it as well. Make sure that your business website includes a way for people to follow you on Twitter. Also make sure that everyone knows they can request support or ask questions on Twitter, as well as expect a response when they do.

You will seem much more in touch and responsive to the needs and interests of your customers. In addition you will have the added opportunity to find out what there interests are and provide information that will fill there needs. If you don’t have a Twitter account linked with your website and blog then you should get that stated today. Twitter can fill a huge gap in your customer communications and let you build real relationships with your customers. When you do that you will have happy customers and they will advertise your company for you. Viral Twitter posts can become word of mouth recommendations very quickly in this kind of situation.

So get your business on Twitter and start building relationships today!

Is YouTube a Safe Website (From Viruses)?

Some people trying to figure out where they got the crazy virus that is attacking there computer have suspected that while watching videos on youtube they got infected.  Is it a breeding ground for massive amounts of viruses?  The simple answer is no.  However that doesn’t mean that you should not be careful with links people post with there videos.  Sometimes external links from there video posted on youtube leads to a site that is infested with viruses.  That is were you are getting into trouble, not being careful where you click, you can go from a relatively safe site to big trouble in just a click.  So watch how you use even reputable websites, don’t count on others, keep yourself safe.

Tons of free traffic, it’s the desire of every internet marketer. You can start getting yours with good use of social bookmarking. You can start with what websites would be the best to use. There are many such as Digg, del.icio.us, stumbleupon,and hundreds more. How would it be if you could be bookmarked by all the best quickly and easily? I would recommend looking at Social Marker.com this will allow you to submit a web page or a post to the top social bookmarking services very quickly. Now you will need to sign up and start an account with each one you intend to use. That is kind of a pain, but once you do it you can use social maker to submit and do it a lot faster. They don’t submit to stumbleupon which you will want to do, so keep that in mind.

Once you have all the accounts ready submit each one of your blog posts, and each website you want to rank. Use the keyword phrases from the post or page in the tags for the bookmark. If you want the bookmarks to be seen fast you can copy the URL of the bookmark and go to Ping-O-Matic and paste it in the box there and submit it. They will let the major search engines know that you have posted new content.

What is Social Bookmarking and How Can You Benefit?

Social bookmarking, have you heard of it? If not, I will briefly explain what it is, then let’s talk about how it can benefit your blog or website. In this introductory article I will talk about the very basic aspects of it. In the next article I will share specific tools and strategies you can use to benefit from this powerful part of the internet.

Think of the bookmarks on your web browser, this is a good example of bookmarking. Social bookmarking lets you organize book marks for a lot of your favorite websites and organize them with tags. A tag is just a keyword you use to categorize your bookmarks. Look at the bottom of this post, in small print you will see the tag l used for this post. Now you can use a tag to look up your favorite websites on that subject, but could someone else be interested in the sites you have found? Yes, this is where the social part comes in the bookmarks can be shared and then more people benefit. Other people can them rate or vote for the bookmarks making them a show of how popular a certain website can be.

Perhaps you are starting to see how this can benefit your website. The fact is your site will get more visibility, be indexed by the search engines more often and quickly, and just plain get you the traffic you want, if it is bookmarked. It will also help you rank better for the keywords you want most, in the natural search engine rankings. Also the people who use social bookmarking are the type of people who will probably contribute to your site content by commenting. These are all things you want to happen. You should definitely be using social bookmarking.

What do the Symbols on Twitter @ # mean?

Now we need to talk about all of the specifics of using Twitter and what they mean. If you look at a typical Twitter account you could see all kinds of symbols and that can be a little confusing. So we are going to look at the specific use of the @ and # as applied to Twitter usage and how it can benefit your business.

First of all, the they are not as complicated as it first could seem. The @ symbol followed by a username such as @brainstormpc is just a way to send a reply to a specific person. This can also be very useful to you, as others can resend your tweets, this is called retweeting and basicly give you the endorsment of the person that retweets your message. It is a very complimentary thing to do and in Twitter etiqutte means you should thank the person doing it. How do you send a retweet? You simple put text before the @username like this: Look at This! @brainstormpc
Getting your followers to retweet you give you a great deal of validity it can really benefit your image online.

The next symbol is the hashtag or #. This little guy makes it possible to track a certain subject in Twitter. Let’s say you are looking to hire people you could put #applyforjob and anyone searching that will find your tweet much easier. It also makes it possible for people in your company to talk to communicate easily using your own set of hashtag indexs.

How to Get More Followers on Twitter and Why You Want Them

Followers, why do you want them? For business it is a remarkable way to know your customers, what they want, need, and don’t like. This can lead you to more positive exposure, and loyal satisfied customers. The more people you have following you the more you benefit it is that simple.

The next question is then, how do you get these followers? We are going to talk about a few specifics, and some important principles, in the next post on this subject I will share more specific tools and strategies. One of the very first things you need to do is promote your Twitter profile on your website, blog, and other social media sites. Think of it as any website that you would direct traffic to. I have seen a lot of cable channels and specific shows ask for followers on twitter, you and I should be doing the same thing with the means at our disposal.

Content is king and you need quality content in your tweets. It is true that we only have 140 characters but that is why you have to make every one count. Now don’t over think this, just put up good quality without, being overbearing commercial. Try broadcasting important events and information that your customers would benefit from not transparent self promotion. You could run a simple poll on a topic, or even product preferences, on products you offer. I am not saying that you shouldn’t promote your company and products you should. However not with every Tweet and not without a real value to the readers in terms of information not just a sales pitch. Keep on working with twitter you will see benefits.

Build Business Relationships with Twitter

I have seen the twitter adds on TV now, for certain shows I have been watching. Why are so many people using Twitter? At first it might sound insane or a tremendous waist of precious time. If that were so why are so many big companies using Twitter?

The reason is in today’s market the key is building relationships with your customers. They don’t just want the product they want to know about the company selling it. You build relationships with people by conversation over time, and that is how Twitter helps you build a relationship with your customers. Think of it as a conversation with your customers. Don’t just post links to your website or key products you want to feature. It is ok to share personal things about your company and make it seem just a little more human and connected. It is also the way you can listen to your customers wants, needs, and opinions. Obviously some opinions are more valid than others but it can help you change your business to better meet the needs and expectations of your customers.

So how can you get started and build up your followers? That is the subject of another post. For now consider how you could be benefited by knowing what people in your market want so you can fill that need. Is it starting to sound a little interesting?
