Free Anti-Virus Software Update

This a free update to the recommendations that I have made about anti-virus software. I have and still do think that Avira AvitVir is very good software. It is very effective and for home use free. However I have had many problems lately getting it to update. I can’t my systems to update, or any of my customers at there different locations. I have had very good experiences lately with the new AVG 9.0 so I would recommend that if you are having problems with Avira updates you are not alone. Think about moving to something else. No matter how good an anti-virus software is, it is only as good as the next definitions update. I just wanted to keep you up to date.

A Good Free Image Editing Software

Hi,

I was working on keyboard replacement on a laptop today, when I was asked what a good free image edging software was. I really like to use Gimp, the only problem with gimp is the interface isn’t what people are familiar with. There is a solution. Gimp Shop! It is a full program that is very powerful, but this will also give you the same interface as Photoshop so that you can use all those great online tutorials for photo editing! Check it out for yourself it is a great tool and completely free. I use it all the time and I think you will as well.

Will Windows 7 be any Better Than Vista?

Windows Vista, one of the most controversial operating systems ever produced. I dealt with a lot of computers with Vista, and I hated it. It didn’t work well with software or hardware, networking was a problem basically nothing worked right but the looks of the thing. So should you be wary of Windows 7?

Absolutely not, I have been beta testing it, and it is everything Windows Vista should have been. It works well with hardware and software. It compresses itself to run in half the memory Vista requires, it runs much faster and is much more stable. I have been advising all of my customers buying new computers to make sure they get one with a free Windows 7. Windows 7 is going to go a long way to restoring the loss of trust caused by Vista. Windows 7 Release Date is 22nd October 2009, and it is going to bring some sanity back to the world of Windows operating systems. If you are struggling with Vista now don’t hesitate to upgrade to Windows 7, you won’t be sorry.

Prevent Software Conflicts, Only One Anti-Virus

I have run across a lot of computer problems lately at the shop caused by more than one anti-virus program. This is something everyone should know, you can have as many spyware programs as you want ( within reason ) and it is good to scan with more than one. However this is just not the case with anti-virus software. They don’t play well together. Most of the time one software will detect the other one checking your system and think it is a virus then when they start fighting each other you start having problems. Always make sure you have completely removed an old anti-virus software before installing a new one. These simple precautions can keep your computer out of the shop and save you money.
