Sometimes a virus gets past anti-virus software and reaks havoc on your computer system what can you do now? There is actually a very simple to use free program that can usually help. It is called Malwarebytes. If you can still use the internet download this program install and update it then run it. It will remove many diffucult viruses that others can miss. If it is a very bad virus you may have to boot your computer into safe mode. To do this reboot your computer, while it reboots press the f8 key this must be done before the windows logo appears. This will get you into the Advanced Startup Options in both Windows XP and Windows Vista. From there select safe mode with networking after the systems boots you may be able to get online to download Malwarebytes and update it. If not you can download it from another computer to a flash drive or a cd and install it. If you run it while your computer is in safe mode it will be able to take care of most infections. Then you can reboot running your computer normally I would run both an anti- spyware program like Spybot Search and Destroy and your anti-virus software. The reason is each scans differently for different kinds of infections and this way you can clean out any related infections. This should get even a very infected machine up and running again.
