Gone everything is gone! Not a good day or a good feeling when your computer crashes and all your work, your records, the great American novel it is all gone. What can you do at this point can you ever see it again? Most likely, ( I say cautiously )you can see at least some of that data again.
The usual cause of such drama is a software issue, especially if it is something like the computer won’t boot and you have error messages all over the place. This surprisingly is good. It means that most of the data is still there you just can’t get it off the normal way. With some cheap data recovery software and an external drive enclosure you can get that info off pretty easy ( not programs just files, programs are gone my friend ). Now if the drive is physically damaged and won’t spin anymore there are companies that specialize in saving your bacon but this gets expensive. If your company pay roll or tax records are on that drive ( and you didn’t back up, bet you are wishing you listened and did the backup now ) then it might be worth it, most companies won’t charge you if they don’t get data off and that is what you should be looking for.To wrap up, you might be able to get the data and the world will continue just fine. Don’t you wish you just did a backup and you didn’t have to go through all this hassle?
